I made this out of a mold casting with polymer clay. I carved the original form, made a mold and cast it with several types of clay. I painted it with gold leaf and attached it to canvas. I was going through quite a metamorphic process when I left Utah. Everything was changing and I was shedding my old republican-jesus-loving skin. I always felt horribly oppressed as a young woman living in Utah. This art came out of me. It was a piece i had done just before I decided to take burlesque classes and become a 42 year old stripper for the hell of it. Restrained be damned. I have serious regrets about not stripping as a unmarried 20 year old.
